It was cheers and hugs after NASA's Mars lander InSight touched down safely on the surface of the Red Planet on Monday to begin exploring -for the first time - the planet's core.

The spacecraft will be the first to study the deep interior of the planet,following its successful landing. The probe will send information back allowing scientists to learn about the planet.
