Continuing their diatribe against the Central government and the BJP on Monday, the TDP leaders alleged that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids were being conducted as part of the BJP’s political vendetta.
At a press conference here, Sports and Youth Minister Kollu Ravindra said it was very common in business to avail oneself of bank loans and repay them. “Sometimes, there could be a delay in the process of repayments. The ED employees were also of the view that the raids were not done in the right spirit.”
At another press conference, MLC Buddha Venkanna sought to know why Prime Minister Narendra Modi was blind to the loans of TDP Rajya Sabha member Y. S. Choudary when he was his Cabinet colleague. The banks sanctioned loans to Mr. Choudary impressed with his business and his plans. The BJP leaders who allege that Mr. Choudary had cheated on the banks were silent on Vijay Mallya and Neerav Modi. The raids on the TDP MPs were being conducted with political vendetta, he alleged.
‘Modi afraid of Naidu’
TDP national official spokesperson Kambhampati Rammohan Rao, in a statement, said Mr. Modi was afraid of Chief Minister and TDP national president N. Chandrababu Naidu’s efforts to unite all non-BJP forces. Mr. Naidu became a strong opponent for the Prime Minister. Unable to face the TDP, the raids were being carried out to weaken the Telugu Desam, he alleged.
TDP official State spokesperson Sadineni Yamini Sarma, at a press conference here, alleged that YSR Congress president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao, Jana Sena Party (JSP) president Pawan Kalyan had become puppets of Mr. Modi and were resorting to mudslinging against the TDP and Mr. Naidu. BJP MP G.V.L. Narasimha Rao became a laughing stock with his illogical arguments on the Special Category Status.
Former Chief Secretary and BJP leader I.Y.R. Krishna Rao should have named his book as “Narendra Modi tho naa nadaka instead of Navyandhra tho naa nadaka”. Mr. Rao, who failed to discharge his duties as the AP Brahmin Corporation chairman, was authoring books only to spew venom on the Chief Minister, she alleged.
