TPCC working president A. Revanth Reddy has expressed strong reservation against Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for making “derogatory” remarks against former AICC president Sonia Gandhi, who was instrumental in the formation of Telangana. .
Addressing a public meeting in support of Congress nominee from Vemulawada Adi Srinivas in Chandurthi mandal on Monday, he said Ms. Gandhi was pained as Telangana martyrs families were neglected by the TRS government, while ‘Telangana traitors’ such as T. Srinivas Yadav, Thummala Nageshwar and Mahender Reddy were included in TRS cabinet.
He was acclaimed and cheered by the gathering whenever he attacked the Chief Minister and his family members in his speech. He also said that Sonia Gandhi was unhappy as the TRS government had failed to provide irrigation sources to the farmers. Instead, the TRS government had siphoned off crores of rupees in the name of redesigning of irrigation projects, he charged. He said that the youth would get one lakh jobs only if KCR was removed from power.
Finding fault with the TRS government for failing to provide fulfill the promise of providing employment and compensation to about 1569 Telangana martyrs’ families or even constructing of martyrs memorial in Hyderabad, he asked whether any ‘Dora’ had committed suicide for the cause of Telangana state. He alleged that KCR and his family were enjoying the benefits of Telangana at the cost of the martyrs.
Refuting Nizamabad MP K. Kavitha’s alleged claims of pioneering for claiming as if she was instrumental in the promotion of Bathukamma festival in the State, he reminded that Bathukamma was being celebrated since ages and it was not a patent of Kavitha. He said that the TRS government had allocated ₹10 crore every year to Kavitha for the conduct of Bathukamma festival in last four years.
Meanwhile, addressing a meeting in Rajanna-Sircilla, Mr. Reddy accused Minister for Irrigation T. Harish Rao of conspiring to defeat KCR and his son, Minister K.T. Rama Rao Rama Rao, and take over as TRS chief.
Participating in an election meeting in Sircilla textile town on Monday in support of Congress nominee K.K. Mahender Reddy, he said that Mr. Harish Rao was eagerly waiting to see that Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao was confined to his farm house and Mr. Taraka Rama Rao migrated to USA after their defeat in the elections. He said Harish Rao had held discussions with Gajwel Congress nominee Voteru Prathap Reddy for the defeat of Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao.
He also called upon the people to be wary about the false promises of the Chief Minister and not to get cheated further. Launching a scathing attack against Minister for IT K. Taraka Rama Rao for neglect of the Sircilla Assembly segment, he charged that the TRS government had tortured the Dalits of Nerella for obstructing the sand mafia of the government.
Stating that Mr. Taraka Rama Rao had instructed all the district officials to wear only khadi dresses every Monday, he asked whether the Minister was wearing khadi in support of the weavers. He alleged that the government had purchased Bathukamma sarees from Surat instead of purchasing from the weavers of Sircilla textile town. He also announced that he would adopt Sircilla Assembly segment for taking up all-round development.
