UP: 3 women die, 4 hurt after SUV run's over them

(Representative image)VARANASI: At least three women were killed and four others suffered grave injuries when an uncontrolled SUV ran over them near Surahurpur village under Mohammadabad Gohna police station in Mau district on Tuesday.
To visit a temple for offering prayer, a group of about a dozen women from Surahurpur village was standing along Mohammadabad road waiting for some vehicle. In the meantime an uncontrolled SUV ran over them before felling into a roadside ditch and turning turtle.
One Shyama (55) died on the spot while two other succumbed to injuries at community health center of Mohammadabad. In view of critical condition of the four injured women, doctors referred them to trauma center of Azamgarh district.
Angered over the incident villagers attacked the SUV. After beating its driver Awadhesh Yadav brutally the angry mob of locals set the SUV ablaze. Inspector Mohammadabad Gohna MP Singh said that the SUV driver had been arrested while bodies of the women were sent for postmortem.
