Cape Town - AmaZulu overcame Highlands Park 2-1 in Tuesday's Absa Premiership clash at Makhulong Stadium with a welcome return to form as they fight relegation.

Veteran Siyabonga Nomvethe got the opener before Lindokuhle Mbatha got the leveler. Emiliano Tade got the winner in what was a close game.

Meanwhile, Cape Town City made it three wins in a row as they defeated Polokwane City 2-1. Ayanda Patosi got the opening goal with a stunning strike.

Siphelele Mthembu made it 2-0 in the second half before Mohamed Anas scored from the penalty spot after a decision was given.

In the other game on the night in the Premiership, struggling Maritzburg United and Chippa United played out to a 0-0 draw.

Both teams had chances but it was not to be as the Team of Choice and the Chilli Boys played out a goalless draw.

Usuthu moved to seven points at the bottom of the table, while Highlands are in 12th. United are in 14th whereas City are in eighth.

Maritzburg are in 14th and Chippa are in 12th in the Premiership standings.
