Students from Kashmir in Chandigarh on 'Op Sadbhawana' tour

CHANDIGARH: As part of OP SADBHAVNA, an initiative of Indian Army, an educational motivational tour of 32 students including 17 Boys and 15 Girls along with two teachers from far flung areas of Kupwara district in Jammu and Kashmir visited the Chandimandir military station on Saturday.
Lt Gen PM Bali, Chief of Staff (COS) Western Comd interacted and felicitated these youth.
The group also visited other places in Chandigarh like Rose Garden & Elante Mall and was enthralled by the beauty of Chandigarh. The teachers and the youth expressed their gratitude to the Indian Army for their efforts.
A spokesperson of Western Command informed that the primary aim of the tour is to motivate students from remote areas and to get a first hand feel of developments in other regions of our country and expose the students to higher education facilities. The experience so gained on culmination of this tour will open new horizons for these youth.
The secondary aim of this tour is to spread a message of goodwill in Kupwara district about the genuine efforts being undertaken by the Army in bringing the youth of this region at par with rest of the nation. The focus of this tour is also to inspire the students of the state to become responsible future citizens of the country, he added.
