The sleuths of Central Crime Station (CCS), Hyderabad, on Saturday conducted searches on the Tolichowki premises of Heera Group of Companies, which has come under a cloud following the arrest of its promoter Nowhera Shaik.

Incriminating material

The searches in H.S. Residency, where 10 flats belong to Heera Group, resulted in the seizure of several incriminating material, including computer hard disks and bundles of documents connected with the financial transactions of the company. The police reportedly seized a few documents related to the depositors too.

All India Mahila Empowerment Party founded by Ms. Shaik is also functioning from the same building, the police said.

No sale of assets

Searches were conducted in the presence of Molly Thomas (50), manager and personal assistant of Ms. Shaik, who is under police custody till Monday and the police will take time to verify the documents. The investigator learnt that family members of Ms Shaik are trying to sell some of their immovable assets worth hundreds of crores of rupees, including land in Tolichowki area.

“We got information about it. They are not allowed to sell the properties as they are attached to the government and investigation is underway,” the officer said, adding that action will be taken against both buyers and sellers.

Meanwhile, prisoner transit (PT) warrant for Ms Shaik was applied in a local court on Wednesday and once it is accepted she will be brought to Hyderabad, police said. “We will seek custody of the arrested after she is transferred here.”

Currently, she is lodged at a prison in Mumbai. Ms Shaik claimed that the company has over 2 lakh depositors, including people from various Gulf countries, but declined to furnish the list of depositors.
