Rajasthan assembly elections: Cash seizure crosses 2013 mark
TNN | Nov 26, 2018, 23:34 ISTJAIPUR: Not even two months have passed since the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) came into force in Rajasthan, but the cash seizure has already crossed the total cash seizure in 2013 assembly election in the state. According to the election department, in 2013 assembly election the total cash seizure was Rs.12.89 crore. However, as on November 25, the total cash seizure in the state has gone up to Rs 13,61,96,942.
The MCC came into force on October 6, the day poll dates were announced by the Election Commission. Rajasthan will go to polls on December 7. So far, as per the election department data, 371,596.31 litres of liquor has been seized worth Rs 5.55 crore, drugs worth Rs 6.79 crore have been seized so far.
A total of 616.85 kgs of gold, silver and other ornaments have been seized valuing at Rs. 6.42 crore apart from 223 vehicles valuing Rs. 10.11 crore. The value of total seizure is Rs. 42.51 crore.
