DMK president MK Stalin has demanded the immediate sacking of ministers and officials involved in the Rs 2,400 crore alleged egg procurement scam in Social Welfare Department unearthed during the Income Tax raids.

Claiming that the firm would not have got access to files without the support of senior officials, the DMK president said the reports about the scam have made (people) genuinely doubt the collusion of officials and ministers.
He also demanded action against the officials and ministers, who supported them for ‘selling’ state secrets to private companies, under sedition charges. In a statement, Stalin expressed shock at size of the scam in a scheme implemented to provide nutritious food to school children and said the I-T raids conducted at the office of the firm supplying eggs to the government for noon meal scheme have unearthed evidence relating to payment of bribe to ministers. “What was even scarier was the seizure of secret files and records of the state government from the office of the private firm. Tamil Nadu has been put to shame by Edappadi K Palaniswami regime which has sold government secrets for bribe,” Stalin remarked.
