44-year-old shot at over land, drives to hospital
Ayaskant Das | TNN | Nov 26, 2018, 07:04 ISTGhaziabad: A 44-year-old man was shot at in Ghaziabad on Saturday allegedly over a property dispute. The victim, Sandeep Raghuvanshi, has been admitted to a private hospital while six men have been booked for the alleged attempt to murder him.
The incident took place around 7pm in Dundaheda, where Sandeep, a senior executive with a realty firm, had gone to inspect two properties he owns there. Sandeep’s wife Arunima, a lecturer at a government inter-college in Govindpuram, said Sandeep had left his flat in Gaur Homes in his Honda City.
“Sandeep owns a couple of buildings in the area. One of the buildings has been given out on rent. The other building is not fully complete and requires maintenance from time to time. Sandeep goes there regularly to inspect the building. I received a call from Sandeep around 7pm that he had been shot at. The men fired at him following a heated argument near the plot. We had never been issued any threats,” Arunima said.
Sandeep was hit by a bullet on the left shoulder. Police said he drove in his Honda City to a private hospital near NH-24, from where he was shifted to Sarvodaya Hospital.
Arunima lodged a complaint against six men. “Prima facie, it appears the attempt to murder was over a property dispute. It seems the accused were trying to forcibly occupy the piece of land belonging to Sandeep,” SP (city) Shlok Kumar said.
