Lucknow University wants Uttar Pradesh government to bear its full salary

LUCKNOW: Lucknow University officials will request the state government to either bear the full salary expenditure or get it central status so that the university can use its revenues for development projects on the campus.
The decision was taken in Lucknow University Alumni Foundation meeting presided by vice-chancellor SP Singh on Saturday. A proposal in this regard will be sent to the state government. At present, state government bears 50% of the salary burden of LU. UP ministers Brijesh Pathak, Ashutosh Tandon and Swati Singh also attended the meeting.
The university will also send a proposal for renovation of its old buildings like Lal Baradari, Milk Bar etc, to the Archaeological Survey of India.
"The meeting of the alumni association will be held on quarterly basis to address various issues pertaining to the university," said LU spokesperson NK Pandey.
