Abhishek Kapoor’s upcoming directorial Kedarnath starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan is one of the most anticipated films of the year. Shot against the beautiful landscapes of Kedarnath, the film faced multiple challenges shooting in the real locations.

Located 3,853 metres up in the Himalayas, the temple town flanked by snow-capped peaks, has an extremely chilly climate. The team had to face inclement weather conditions while shooting the film at real locations.

Talking about the weather, Kedarnath’s director, Abhishek Kapoor says, “Climate was so chilly that the team had arranged hot water buckets and used them in the break between the shoots to maintain the body temperature. For a sequence, we had to shoot in the rain and storm. For another sequence, we had arranged a snow and storm creator machine but on the day of shooting, we had to face an unexpected real storm. The cast and crew showed enough courage and went on shooting even in the real storm. Those scenes will be shown in the movie.” The makers had arranged choppers for the entire cast and crew of 200 to be taken up the hill.

Sushant, who has worked relentlessly for the film underwent rigorous training sessions without using a body double. The actor who portrays the role of a human porter took his lessons from the local pithoos to master the technique. While training, Sushant even lifted people every day and also shopped clothes from the local shops for himself from the Tilwada market to add the authentic touch to his character.

The trailer of Kedarnath showcases the chemistry of the leading duo depicting the youthful love story with the breathtaking visuals. Based against the backdrop of the Uttarakhand floods that hit in 2013, Kedarnath is an eternal love story.

The film has released three songs in a row Namo Namo, Sweetheart and Qaafirana which has piqued the interest amongst the movie goers. The film will release on December 7.
