The farmers in Anantapur district should take to horticulture crops using drip and sprinkler irrigation as availability of water was very low and the Krishna water being given to the district was slowly changing the face of the district, observed Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, according to Information and Public Relations Minister Kalava Srinivasulu.
Briefing mediapersons on the review of development by the Chief Minister in the district in the past 1,500 days, the Minister said an expert would be sent to Anantapur very soon to prepare a plan for the next five years to increase the spread of horticulture crops to 5 lakh acres. Addressing district-level officers at a convention centre here on Saturday, Mr. Naidu appreciated the police personnel for maintaining the law and order properly in the past four and half years. He said their efforts would bring more investments into the district for setting up of industries. He gave the officers a task to take the growth rate of the district to 15%.
New approach
Advising the officials to adopt technology properly, he wanted them to mix vision, innovation, accountability, convergence and transformation to make administrative services provide 100% results. Future belongs to technology and its convergence with ground situation. The satisfaction levels of people on the State government and district administration’s delivery of services should be continuously improved, he said. The only mantra was to go closer to the people in all possible ways. “We have adopted a life-cycle approach in welfare schemes. The officials must contact each and every unhappy person for feedback and ensure their hurdles are removed,” the Chief Minister observed.
Collector G. Veerapandian was felicitated in the presence of Women’s Welfare Minister Paritala Sunitha and Irrigation Minister and district in charge Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao.
