Sikandra police recover three service revolvers, cartridges of AK-47 from drug addict

AGRA: A drug addict was caught with missing service revolvers and cartridges of AK-47 by Sikandra police on Sunday.
Hailing from Sumawali village of Bamaur police jurisdiction, Gwalior district of Madhya Pradesh, the apprehended accused goes with six names, such as Ramesh alias Deva alias Bunty alias Devkinandan alias Kalu alias Kalu Sharma.
According to police, the accused was frequent visitor to police station on frivolous matters. On the morning of November 22, he came to police station and found armoury keys lying idle at the desk of station. “He took the keys and opened the armoury to steal three service revolvers and 63 cartridges of AK-47 assault rifle to sell in arms factory and buy drugs for his addiction,” said IPS Abhishek (goes by first name), circle officer of Hariparvat.
“After a detail investigation and questioning with on duty cops, we narrowed down our probe on the drug addict, who goes by six names. A 29 member team of crime branch, surveillance and local police raided several places and turned several crime records to trace the accused's location. Fortunately he was caught from Guru Ka Taal area, which is 3km away from police station. The accused was caught at around 12:30am on Sunday and was interrogated. Later all the missing weaponry were recovered from his possession,” added officer Abhishek.
According to police, the accused had served jail term in Madhya Pradesh and was a habitual thief, who stole train passengers belongings to fulfil his drug requirement for addiction.
SSP Agra, Amit Pathak had already suspended two head constables of Sikandara police for their leniency and negligence which kept the entire department on toe after the missing weapon news.
