PGI holds talk on cardiac imaging

Chandigarh: Society of Nuclear Medicine Congress on the third day of its annual conference organised talks on cardiac imaging, PET/CT in children and analysis of nuclear medicine images.
The experts said that with increasing detection of cancers in children, PET/CT was gradually becoming crucial. "The radiation doses need to be reduced, PET and CT scans should be acquired quickly and the patients should get optimum scan quality," the experts added.
The experts held discussions on various types of cardiac problems and complex scenarios that are encountered in patients and the algorithms that need to be adopted.
Meanwhile, a special quiz was organised for the first time at the conference. The quiz witnessed enthusiastic participation from delegates from across the country.
Ashwin Singh Parihar, Shelvin Kumar Vadi, Tinu Lukose and Ajay Kumar of PGI won the first prize of Rs 10,000.
