Riot police called as Schoolies celebrations turn sour on Peninsula
Police have been pelted with rocks as Schoolies celebrations descended into chaos on the Mornington Peninsula on Saturday night.
Riot police and dogs were sent to the Rye foreshore as police scrambled to contain a large gathering on youths about 9.30pm.
Police also responded to reports of a separate brawl just after 11pm.
As of Sunday morning, no injuries had been reported to police and no arrests had been made.
"Those participating in Schoolies are reminded to be mindful and respectful of the communities they’re celebrating in," police said.
