CPI-led Bharatiya Khet Mazdoor Union will hold its three-day State unit conference here from Sunday to chalk out agitational programmes against the ‘anti-farm worker’ Narendra Modi government at the Centre and the Chandrababu Naidu government in the State.
Addressing the media here, its State general secretary Jelli Wilson said both governments had made the lives of farm workers miserable and made no effort to implement the poll promises made to improve their living conditions.
Food security
Communist Party of India (CPI) State secretary K.Ramakrishna would set the tone for a brainstorming session as the National Food Security Act remained on paper and migration went unchecked in the wake of the alleged dilution of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment scheme, said Mr. Wilson, former CPI MLC.
CPI national secretary K.Narayana and Sri Venkateswara University former Vice-Chancellor Kolakaluri Enoch would also take part in the conference to finalise struggles against the ‘corporate-friendly’ Central and State governments, said its State president A.Sekar.
