Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, Rajamahendravaram, Executive Director-Asset Manager D.M.R. Sekhar flagged off the ‘Bharata Rajyanga Gowrava Yatra’ at Amaravati on Saturday.
The rally was organised by the Confederation of SC, ST, OBC and Minority Employees Associations in the State from Amaravati to Rajamahendravaram in 69 cars in commemoration of the 69th Constitution Day (Nov. 26).
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sekhar said Indian Constitution was a holy document of democracy to which all the Indians should abide by, irrespective of their personal beliefs.
Transformation
He said that the Constitution was envisaged to break the shackles of traditional social hierarchies and usher in a new era of freedom, equality and justice.
The Constitution empowered the traditionally deprived sections in the country and had brought in socio-economic transformation of the underprivileged, he said.
The two-day rally will cover 500 kilometres and culminate at Rajamahendravaram on Sunday evening.
The rally is led by a vehicle displaying a replica of Parliament building.
