CHARGES: Improper disclosures about a personal matter which was later revealed to be a consensual affair with a former employee.

RESULT: Bansal resigned from the ecommerce firm he cofounded, but has held onto his board seat.

CHARGES: Alleged conflict of interest in doling out loans to entities having business interests with her husband.

RESULT: Decided to retire early from her job as CEO, even as a law firm tasked with investigating her conduct in 2016 withdrew its findings. Another independent investigation is ongoing.

The Samsung scion

J Y Lee, Vice Chairman, Samsung Electronics

CHARGES: Bribery, embezzlement, capital flight and perjury charges; paid a former advisor to former president Park Geun-hye $36 million in bribes for political favours.

RESULT: He was jailed for five years initially, but later reduced to 2.5 years on appeal. He was released on a four-year probation in February this year.
