The day’s play was curtailed due to wet outfield and in the 64 overs that were bowled, TN found run-making difficult scoring 111 runs while losing five wickets. The host is still adrift of Hyderabad by 26 runs. TN skipper S Swaminathan is batting on 42 while for the visitor R Prasad scalped three wickets.

Parakh leads from front
Opting to bat first, Tamil Nadu scored 252 for seven against Hyderabad on the first day of the Vijay Merchant Trophy for U-16 in Hyderabad on Saturday.
TN captain Manav Parakh led from the front scoring 80 (188b, 11x4, 1x6) and he received good support from S Sri Abisek 66 (102b, 11x4, 1x6). Hyderabad’s Kamal Sawariya took four for 47.
