‘Naidu’s seniority is of no use to State’

Highlighting the need for ensuring harmony among people of different castes, JSP president Pawan Kalyan on Friday alleged that the ruling TDP divided the people on caste lines for its political mileage.

“I mistook Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu as a senior leader. But now it is clear that his seniority is of no use to the State as he is focusing more on his personal growth rather than that of the State,” Mr. Pawan Kalyan said while addressing a public meeting at Mandapeta.

The JSP would never encourage caste politics, but provide a platform to those who had the fire to do some social good, he said.

“I have not come to politics for money or position. My aim is to address the problems of the people and provide employment to youth. I did a mistake by extending solidarity to the TDP during the last elections. I am feeling sorry for it now,” he said.

Wondering why the TDP leaders were talking about his caste whenever he pointed out corruption in the government, Mr. Pawan Kalyan sought to know why the leaders did not speak about his caste when he had campaigned for their party in 2014. “I have the right to question the government as an individual. As a person who had played a key role in the TDP’s victory, I feel it is my responsibility to question the irregularities. Since they have no answers to my questions, they have launched a counter-attack and are trying to confine me to a particular caste,” the JSP chief said.

‘Transparency’

A vote for the JSP would lead to good governance, he said.

“Moreover, I have the courage to fight with the Centre whenever it is necessary. I am a transparent person and my government will also be transparent,” he asserted, while calling upon the people to cast their vote to the JSP in the ensuing elections.
