Rajkot: A head constable with Bamanbor police station in Surendranagar district was caught accepting Rs 2 lakh bribe from Chotila on Friday night.

Rajkot anti-corruption bureau (ACB) said while Prabhatsinh Parmar was nabbed, sub-inspector K K Kalotara gave the cops the slip.

Kalotara had demanded the bribe money from the complainant, a bootlegger, for not subjecting him to physical assault, not putting him in the lock-up, not seizing his vehicle and not forcing him to give names of the co-accused. “Initially, Kalotara had demanded Rs 3 lakh but scaled down the demand to Rs 2 lakh. After Parmar accepted the money, he phoned Kalotara to tell him that he had got the money. This we have taken as an evidence,” said C J Sureja, Rajkot ACB inspector.
