AICC spokesperson calls the TRS government rule ‘corrupt KCR Pvt. Ltd.’

Terming the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government of having acquired the sobriquet of ‘corruption, commission and cheating’, AICC chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said the party, after coming to power would conduct an investigation into all the misdeeds of the ruling government and punish those who ‘plundered’ the State’s resources.

Mr. Surjewala, who released a chargesheet against the government along with AICC incharge of Telangana R.C. Khuntia, AICC secretary Madhu Yaskhi Goud, Rajya Sabha member from Karnataka Naseer Hussain and TPCC secretary Gudur Narayan Reddy, termed the government as ‘Corrupt KCR Pvt Ltd’ as only five people of the family ruled the State.

A People’s Commission would investigate the allegations against the Chief Minister, ministers, MLAs and officers involved in ‘looting’ the exchequer and those found guilty will have to face the consequences, he said.

Accusing Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao of accommodating only five family members in his car, he said there was no place for the people fought for the State and the common man and mocked it saying the “Car (TRS party symbol) was Bekaar”.

Corrupt government

He described the four-and-a-half years rule of TRS as “A saga of failed promises and a web of deception.”

He charged the TRS government with having become the second most corrupt government in the country, citing CMS survey, and accused it of redesigning the projects to escalate the cost to make money. Kaleshwaram project itself was enhanced by ₹ 35,000 crore plundering the State’s finances. The government has left behind ₹ 2.2 lakh crore debt in its rule, from a surplus of ₹ 7,500 crore. Listing out various schemes, he said the government was involved in sand mafia, police vehicles purchase scam, water grid scam, irrigation project scam and the TRS leadership believed in mafia style of functioning. Every section is let down and the aspirations of the Telangana movement were betrayed by “KCR’s arrogance of power”. The single point agenda was family and coterie rule, he alleged.

Anti-people

Terming Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao as a stooge of Mr. Narendra Modi, he justified it by saying that every move of Mr. Modi was supported by him and that the TRS was the only non-NDA party to support all anti-people decisions of the NDA government. Yet, he could not achieve what Congress promised to Telangana during the bifurcation.

To a question, he said KCR was desperately trying to portray AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu as indulging in theatrics, but people have seen through his acts.

He reminded that Congress took the bold step on Telangana despite the political costs involved for it as UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi wanted to fulfil the aspirations of the people.
