Basic investigations are not done in the state’s biggest hospital

Chronicle Reporter, Bhoapl, Hamidia and Sultania are the biggest hospitals in the state in terms of beds. There are about 70 surgeries are operated every day in both hospitals.

However, surgery can be done only when diseases are diagnosed from outside of these hospitals. The reason is that a dozen important testing are closed for almost a month in Hamidia Hospital. Due to lack of kit, it cannot be tested. About 200 patients return from OPD without tests every day. Due to lack of budget, kit cannot be purchased.

Two months ago there was a similar problem. After this the kit came for a few days. Now again the same situation has built up. Patients have to go outside the Hamidia hospital for half the investigations.

One investigation costs up to 150 to 450 rupees. Patients face much problem at the time of arriving in emergency ward or patients who are admitted in hospital.

Many important investigation facility have not started till date

Hamidia and Sultania patients are examined in Hamidia Hospital’s Central Pathology Lab. About 1500 to 1800 investigations are carried out every day of 250 patients. There are not many necessary investigations are not carried out even after it is a medical college.

Doctors recommend investigations from private lab. Doctors of various departments recommend about 40 patients every day for the investigation of Vitamin D and Vitamin B-12. These investigations are not being investigated in Hamidia. To know prostate cancer PSAs is tested and to detect kidney disease, simple amino acids is there but these common investigations are not done in Hamidia hospital.
