MANDYA: A high alert has been sounded in the the south Karnataka region following the death of Kannada film star-turned-politician MH Ambareesh on Saturday.

Additional police forces are sent to Mandya district where Ambareesh had a huge fan following.


According to the sources, there is still a possibility of fans taking the extreme step and all the precautionary measures are in place to deal with any eventualities.


As the news spread, scores of his followers took to the streets to express their grief over the demise of their leader.


Few hours before his death, Ambareesh had expressed his shock to the bus accident which claimed the lives of 30 people.
