90% respondents say ‘Mann ki Baat’ spreads positivity: Survey

NEW DELHI: As Prime Minister Narendra Modi gets ready to deliver his 50th 'Mann ki Baat' address, the monthly programme has received a massive positive response from its listeners, according to a survey.
The survey, conducted by Aakashwani and NaMo App and MyGov, revealed that seven in ten participants of the survey have listened to the programme.
* A staggering 91 per cent of the respondents said that the programme is spreading positivity.
* The study highlighted that about 70.8% of the total respondents, or about 7 in every 10 people, have listened to 'Mann Ki Baat'.
* While radio, with 34%, is the most preferred medium, the programme is also fairly popular on other mediums such as TV (28%), Narendra Modi Mobile App (26%) and the internet (11%).
* Cleanliness was the most popular topic among the respondents with around 35% impressed with Prime Minister making it the focal point in several editions of the programme. 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' (26.9%) and Yoga (17.9%) were the other two popular topics.
* The programme was a major source of motivation with over 62% respondents saying that the monthly programme has inspired them to participate in community service.
* Swachh Bharat, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Fit India and Yoga, promoting Khadi, Incredible India, drug-free India and INS Tarini’s circumnavigation of the world were some of the various topics the listeners admired the most.
* The programme has also helped in the revival of radio with almost 69% of the respondents, especially young participants, saying that the medium has benefited from the programme.
