Wanve takes potshots at Bawankule, Jichkar over ward-wise meetings
Anjaya Anparthi | TNN | Nov 24, 2018, 21:52 ISTNagpur: Tanaji Wanve, leader of opposition in the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), took potshots at guardian minister Chandrashekar Bawankule and mayor Nanda Jichkar saying both are cheating the citizens by announcing ward-wise meetings.
Jichkar has announced ward-wise meetings under ‘Mayor at your doorsteps’ initiative between November 27 and February 12 to learn about problems faced by citizens and to resolve them.
Wanve in a press release said NMC is not able to give justice to corporators then how will it resolve citizens’ problems. “Many of the works taken up by corporators are pending for one or the other reason. All the corporators propose works as per needs of citizens. NMC is not having funds for making payments to employees and retired staffers. Then how can Bawankule and Jichkar hear citizens’ problems and solve them?” he said.
Wanve along with corporators from Congress met municipal commissioner Abhijit Bangar and submitted a memorandum demanding immediate execution of works taken up by corporators.
