Sachin Sharma | TNN | Nov 25, 2018, 04:00 ISTVadodara: Several BJP functionaries and elected representatives are curiously missing from big events these days. And the reason is no disgruntlement, but the fact that the entire top brass and VMC functionaries of the party are campaigning for Madhya Pradesh (MP) assembly elections.
The city and district BJP units have been given poll duties in Indore and rural areas of Indore district.
Vadodara city unit BJP general secretary Keyur Rokadia said MLAs from have been given responsibility of one seat each in Indore district. The functionaries stitch together their own team and reach the respective assembly constituency to work there. “Our task largely revolves around supporting the local candidate and those involved with the campaigning. We also give inputs regarding the way we manage polls in the city and some of our suggestions are even incorporated in the campaign and election management,” said Rokadia.
Functionaries say party members from Vadodara also join door-to-door campaign in some areas and try to convince voters saying that they had come from a faraway place to seek votes . Others even get into paperwork at offices to plan things like ensuring all voters are contacted through visits and planning to ensure a healthy turnout on the election day.
