Cartier: When the iconic French jeweller announced Wallis as the face of Panthère de Cartier in April this year, their statement said, “The Maison discovered a great strength of character, a fearless spirit and a hunger for self-expression.” She considers the jewellery watch — first launched in 1983, with an updated design released last year — an “embodiment of elegance”, adding that she felt it was a meeting of the minds, as “their integrity and charitable work also appealed to me.”

Red carpet choice: “I prefer wearing a mix of designers, based on how I’m feeling. I love the theatrical styles of Alexander McQueen, and knowing creative director Sarah Burton helps. There’s Prada, for their innovation and modern, trending looks. And when I’m feeling brave, young designer Christopher Kane’s work (left).”

Vote for high street: “I love Rebecca Taylor’s sundresses (left) for daytime appearances. Of course one can never go wrong with the classic Levis and T-shirt, finished off with a leather jacket. My 20s were spent in London, so I’m very loyal to Zara and Topshop — because we actors travel so much, high street brands that are affordable and cool really help. If you have got style, you can really work it.”

Vintage pointers: “I’m very visually inspired by blogs and influencers, and by street style when I travel. I wonder how anyone chooses their style now, there is so much to pick from! I make it a point to visit vintage stores wherever I go, and one of my favourites is Rellik in London. I once found a cream, polka-dotted Oscar de la Renta ball gown for $20 there. Another favourite find was a Gucci suit for $30 at a consignment store in LA. You can really luck out, so go and have an adventure.”

Georgia Hardinge: “She is one of my best friends and an upcoming designer who was awarded a Contemporary and Fashion Trust sponsorship from the British Fashion Council. Her design is very sculptural (think Chevron-inspired prints, origami fold sleeves and pleated skirts).”

Miuccia Prada: “She really influenced my style, because she is not only a fashion designer, but also a big supporter of the arts and films. I think as a woman in her field, she is a pioneer on so many levels. I like her style and vibe.”
