BJP MP from Unnao, Sakshi Maharaj, on Friday created another controversy by claiming that if Delhi's Jama Masjid was razed, idols of Hindu deities would come out. Talking to reporters in Unnao, Sakshi said that he would stick to what he said in Mathura years ago.

"I am not backing out from my statement made several years ago in Mathura. During the Mughal regime, temples were destroyed and damaged in large numbers and replaced by mosques.

Now, even if you razed Delhi's Jama Masjid, idols of Hindu deities would be found. If this does not prove true, you can hang me," BJP MP said. He said that party chief Amit Shah had said in Jaipur on Thursday that there was a temple in Ayodhya, it still existed there and a grand temple would be constructed there at all cost. "See this is our party's stand", Sakshi said.
