CHANDIGARH: The department of Nuclear Medicine, PGI is hosting the annual conference of Society of Nuclear Medicine, India. The second day of the conference commenced with invited talks on thyroid cancer, radio-pharmacy and radiation safety.
Sessions on thyroid cancer were directed towards recognising the disease early using the diagnostic tests so that early treatment can be initiated. Thyroid cancer is one of the cancers which has a significantly high survival rate, provided that the patients are managed properly and at an early stage. The talks delivered by renowned national and international faculties stressed on the need to develop awareness regarding thyroid cancer and involvement of Nuclear Medicine physicians early in the management of these patients.
