HYDERABAD: Lyricist KCR has wielded the pen again. This time, the words have been put to music so that the developmental activities can be soothing to the ear to hear. But Chandrasekhar Rao, the man with an acerbic tongue, also sharpened his knives against the opposition with his piercing lyrics in two songs that he has composed for the Telangana elections.
Two songs penned by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao were released by the TRS on Saturday, along with a other songs.
During the Telangana movement, Chandrasekhar Rao had also composed a song for the film “Jai Bolo Telangana” directed by Shankar. The song “Garadi Chesthundru, Gadibidi chestundru, thondiku digunthundru, hey mondikipothundru”, targeted Congress leaders calling them ‘mantrikulu’. The meaning of the song is that Congress leaders are deceiving the public and are an impediment for a separate Telangana to be achieved. In the picturisation of the song Smriti Irani is also seen. She plays the role of Telangana talli in the film released in 2011.
In the songs that KCR has composed to be used in the campaign for the party in the Telangana elections, he concentrates mainly on talking about all the developmental activities that have been taken up by the TRS government. At the same time, he once again sees a conspiracy by the opposition parties which have formed the Mahakutami, to derail the progress of Telangana.
“Telangana eppudipude challabaduthvunnadhi, Kutralanni chedhinchi kudhutabaduthuvunnadhi, Chiguruvesi chindhulesi mogga thoduguthunnadhi, Poothapoosi kaatha kaasi chethikandhanunnadhi,” read the introductory lines of a song comparing Telangana to a newly planted growing tree and that is about to bear fruit.
In the next two few lines, he writes: Inthaloni kakshakatti kutami vasthunnadhi, Abhivrudhiaddukune aapadavasthunnadhi, Kutralanni thippikotti Prajalantha jattukatti, Udyamakalam nati uppenalalevali, TRs prabuthvanni thirigi thechchukovali, KCR kalalani paripoornam kavali” KCR conveys that the opposition parties are conspiring against the progress of the state and urges the people to be as motivated as they were during the Telangana struggle to get the TRS back to power.
The second song that KCR has penned is about the schemes that the TRS government has taken up and lists them one by one. The lyrics ask the people to ‘ask the schemes’ what KCR has done.
“Aa kalakala lade cheruvula nadugu, Kaleshwara project nu adugu, Kalwakurthethipothalanadugu, Kalvalapareneellanuadugu, Padipantala pallelanadugu, Kothagerpadina jillalanadugu,” the song lists the Kaleshwaram project, Kalwakurthy-Ethipothala project, the green fields, and the new districts that have been formed.
“Eravainalugu gantalu vachche eramu lenu currenttu nadugu,” another line goes pointing to the fact that there is round-the-clock power supply in the state.
“Sir kcr sarkar siru ku endhuveyyalno, enthu veyyalno sarunendhuku gelipinchalno, Adugu bhai cheptadhi, Ave chepthai adagaradhe anna, Inkaemmanna doubt unte nanndugu chepta,” the lyrics go explaining that all the projects and schemes speak for themselves and why people should vote for the car. “If you still have any doubts, ask me,” the lyrics also say.
