Four Tanzanian ladies and two Nigerian men were attacked in the national capital on Friday over rumours of being cannibals.

The shocking incident took place at different locations in Dwarka after rumours went viral that the African nationals were kidnapping children and they were a man-eater.

Police had received multiple calls against them including one that alleged that they have abducted a child. However, they were rescued after an investigation showed that they were not involved in any such activity.

The women victims have been identified as Assifa, Riziki, Fatima & Esta Joshva. Several people had also gathered outside the house of the victim. However, they were rescued after police reached the spot.

Last year, six African nationals were attacked in south Delhi’s Mehrauli area. Whereas, a 23-year-old Congolese national MK Olivier was killed in south Delhi’s Vasant Kunj.

India had assured the African envoys of safety and security of all African nationals following the incidents.
