Tourist company cheated of Rs 10L

PUNE: A tourist company was cheated to the tune of Rs 10.26 lakh by three unidentified persons while the company was trying to book flight tickets for 180 students planning a trip to Dalhousie. The incident took place between July to November. A case of cheating has been lodged at Swargate police station by the complainant Sandeep Sethiya. 

As per information provided by the Swargate police, Sethiya was approached by an official from a college on Karve Road. The college had planned a trip to Dalhousie and had asked Sethiya to book 180 flight tickets from Pune to Chandigarh and back. Sethiya informed the college authority that the fare per person would be around Rs 10,000. Sethiya then tried to book the ticket through a Delhi-based tour operator. Sethiya told the police that he was in touch with three different persons who informed him that he needs to pay Rs 17.1 lakh for 180 tickets. 

Till November, Sethiya had paid Rs 10.26 lakh but is yet to get the tickets. Following which, a complaint was lodged by Sethiya at Swargate police station. The Swargate police are further investigating the case.
