St Joseph’s girls win 5-0 thanks to Yesha’s brace

Pune: St. Joseph High School, Pashan girls defeated Delhi Public School, Kondhwa 5-0 to advance in the hockey event of Sakal presents Mapro Schoolympics in progress at Major Dyan Chand poligras stadium, in Pimpri on Friday.

Samata Gajghate opened the scoring in the first minute while Yesha Pagedar scored a brace in the third and 10th minutes.

Alpana Toppo scored one in the fifth minute while Shriya Bagade added one to the tally in the 26th minute as St Joseph’s walked away with the win.

In another match, Smt. Goolbai Muluk Irani Kanya Shala, Khadki defeated Angel Mickey Minie School, Hadapsar 4-0.
 
Nikita Landge (4th), Priyanka Waghmare (13th, 39th) and Rutuja Waghmare (16th) got on the scoreline for Smt. Goolbai Muluk Irani Kanya Shala, Khadki.

Meanwhile Angel High School, Loni Kalbhor got a walkover from NMV Girls High School, Tilak Road.

In the boys matches, Loyola High School, Pashan Road, Netaji Subhashchandra Bose Boy’s Military School, Phulgaon and St. Joseph High School Boys, Khadki got walkovers from Podar International School (CBSE), Chakan, St. Ursula High School, Akurdi and Angel High School, Urulikanchan respectively.
