Yevalewadi firing victim passes away

PUNE: The 27-year-old victim, who was injured after he was shot at by four unidentified persons in Yevalewadi on Wednesday succumbed to his injuries on Thursday. Deputy Commissioner of Police Prakash Gaikwad said the victim, Amrut Parihar, died while undergoing treatment.

He said police teams are working to crack the case. Following the incident, the police have lodged a murder case against the four accused. Parihar worked in a jewellery shop.

According to the police, Parihar was residing in Kondhwa for the last five years and is from  Rajasthan. He worked at Ganesh Jewellers, operating from a rented shop in Yevalewadi area of Kondhwa. The shop owner had gone to Rajasthan and Amrut was handling the work on Wednesday.

At 1.30 pm, four persons came into the shop and following some discussion with Armut, one of them opened fire at him with a revolver. The assailants then fled from the spot.
