Manhart’s BMW M2 Competition Gets 542 Horses To Play With

Manhart took a good look at the BMW M2 Competition and decided that it could do with a few upgrades to become an even more exciting ride.

The German tuner set out to boost the performance of the twin-turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine with an ECU remap and a carbon air intake.

With the new parts up and running, the car’s output hits 550 PS (542 hp / 404 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of peak torque. This represents a 140 PS (138 hp / 103 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque increase compared to the stock BMW M2 Competition, which sprints to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.0 seconds with the automatic transmission.

Enhancing the sound are the in-house developed stainless steel muffler and downpipes, while the four carbon exhaust tips are incorporated into the new rear diffuser. Other exterior upgrades are the front splitter, side wings and rear spoiler, all of them made of carbon fiber. Filling the wheel arches are the 20-inch aluminum rims, called Concave One.

As for the final touch, this comes in the form of a 20 mm (0.8 in) lowered ground clearance compared to the standard BMW M2 Competition, achieved via installing a set of KW coilover springs.
