The heavy downpour flooded city roads and brought traffic to a halt. MANGALURU: Residents of Mangaluru were taken by surprise late on Friday evening as sudden rain lashed the city, throwing life out of gear for a brief period.

Commuters, who were caught unaware of the sudden change in weather condition, braved the thunder and lightning, even as they rushed to building establishments seeking shelter.
Motorcyclists bore the brunt as bigger vehicles moved to splash water that was gathered on the road concrete road connecting the city to Kottara-Chowki.
No casualty was reported yet.
