Assembly Elections 2018: BJP’s 3-point power play in Rajasthan

As an aggressive Congress brings the fight to BJP’s court in Rajasthan, the ruling party has rolled out a “3-4 attack formation”. A three-point analysis of party president Amit Shah has been formulated for selection of candidates, while a four-stage campaign is being rolled out to turn the tide in favour of the party, a highly-placed BJP office-bearer told DNA.

“The BJP campaign has already completed its two stages and a change in public perception is visible. The coming stages will ensure that the BJP wins with a comfortable majority,” the senior BJP leader shared the party’s insight into poll strategy.

Amid anti-incumbency and internal dissent, the BJP is counting heavily on cadre management and social engineering. The first stage has already arrived in the form of worker meetings held by party president Amit Shah. The second stage takes it to directly associating with the ‘beneficiaries’. A state-level event was presided over by PM Modi to emphasise on the need to connect directly with the beneficiaries.

According to BJP leaders, both the above stages have been implemented successfully. They, however,  admit only a little advantage to BJP and in order to turn the situation in favour of the party, the star campaigners will address public meetings. The fourth stage will arrive on the day of voting. It will ensure most of its voters arrive early to booths on the D-Day.

The BJP is banking heavily on social media techniques and has developed an action plan.
