Art Workshop at PU

Chandigarh, November 22, 2018: Department of Art History & Visual Arts presents “Ek Onkar” an art workshop by five artists to celebrate the birthday of Shri Gurunanak Dev Ji . The participating five artists portrayed the spirit of the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji on their canvasses . The workshop was inaugurated by Professor Rajat Sandhir, Department of Biochemistry, P.U.
The Participating artists Alisha Sharma , B.Ravikiran , Ramandeep Singh , Santosh Kumar Rautrai and Sarwan Kumar used acrylic medium and also certain art fixtures onto their canvasses . According to the curator of the show, Dr. Tirthankar Bhattacharya, the workshop was a unique concept not organized by the department earlier and was conceived to promote the idea and spirit of “Ek Onkar” which is relevant in today’s contemporary Indian secular society . The artists are a group of five enthusiastic and spirited lot who floating in a lot of positive energy , which is essential for any art activity .
The coordinator and curator of the workshop assured that the paintings which were made during the workshop would be show cased at an exhibition later for the art lovers.
