Man held in Madhya Pradesh for abuse of minor girl
Times News Network | Nov 22, 2018, 05:30 ISTMandya: Maddur police on Monday arrested a man in Madhya Pradesh who was wanted for the rape of a minor girl here.
Satish Razak, a tile worker, was absconding since three months. A resident of Pura village in Madhya Pradesh, Razak was wanted for sexually assaulting a minor girl.
According to police, the accused and the girl’s mother worked at the same construction site. The 14-year-old used to accompany her mother to the site every day, said police. Razak would call the girl on her mother’s mobile. Once he gained her trust, he took her to Channapatna frequently where he allegedly abused her. The incident came to light when the girl fell ill. A medical examination proved that she had been abused.
On questioning, she told her mother that Razak had abused her on several occasions. The mother filed a complaint with Maddur police. However, Razak had left the place by then.
No one at the construction site knew of Razak’s whereabouts or where he was from. Police tracked him through his mobile number.
Once he was tracked to his village, a police team led by circle inspector Mahesh travelled all the way to the village and arrested him. He was produced before the judge and has been remanded to judicial custody.
Razak has been booked under under various provisions of the POCSO Act.
