Ujjain: Electoral expenses data shows that candidates on all seven constituencies of Ujjain district have already spent Rs 80 lakh in electoral publicity. Constituency wise expenses, includes public, meeting, rallies etc, excludes expenditure incurred in rallies of star campaigner of parties.
Candidates from Nagda- Kachrod constituency have spent around Rs 2.50 lakh, Rs 70,436 in Mahidpur constituency. Similarly on Tarana and Ghatiya seats Rs 44,514 and Rs 2.19 lakh have been spent respectively. On Ujjain north and south constituencies, candidates have spent Rs 5.70 lakh and Rs 5.60 lakh respectively. On Barnagar seat Rs 1.60 lakh have been spent in electoral publicity. Similarly political parties have also spent Rs 47 lakh on various electoral publicity events. Data released by district electoral officer shows that BJP has spent Rs 23.5 lakh in public meeting arrangements.
Congress has spent Rs 21.5 lakh, AAP has spent around Rs 40,000 and Shiv Sena Rs 72,000 in electoral publicity. Breakdown of data shows that both BJP and Congress have spend considerable amount on accommodation of star campaigners and leaders. AAP and Shiv Sena have not spent a single rupee on star campaigners and accommodations. 5 miscreants externed from district Collector Manish Singh on Wednesday externed five miscreants from district for a year under Section 5 of Madhya Pradesh State Security Act-1990. Tahir of Mahidpur, Parvez of Nagda, Salman aka Riwaz, Abdul Hafiz and Firoz of Nagda have been externed.
