A man has been charged with stealing after his online date fell from a balcony and impaled himself.
Police were called to a unit block at Brisbane Street in Sydney's Surry Hills before 4pm on November 4.
On their arrival they found a Swedish/American IT worker impaled on a table leg after he fell three floors from his balcony.

He remains in a critical condition and is currently in intensive care at St Vincent Hospital.
Surry Hills detectives believe the 37-year-old victim had met up with another man earlier through the dating app, Grindr.
Detectives later arrested a 27-year-old Abdul Tabbaa at his home on Railway Parade at Macquarie Park in Sydney's north on Wednesday.
He was taken to Campbelltown Police Station and charged with steal property in a dwelling house.
Police have alleged the man stole items from his online date's unit.
Charges of larceny for thefts in October were also brought against the man.
He was refused bail and will front Central Local Court via audio visual link on Monday.

Police say the IT man appeared to climb over the rail of his own balcony at the time of the incident.
They are still puzzled as to why he might have made the decision to do so.
Surry Hills Commander Detective Superintendent Gavin Wood said earlier this month the 37-year-old stayed at the victim's apartment for a while.
He went on to warn users of dating apps to always be cautious.
'Know who you are meeting, where you’re meeting them, what their intentions are and perhaps establish some safeguards beforehand such as providing close friends with those details,' Supt Wood said.
