Fire danger warnings have been issued for the north-central parts of the country, where high temperatures are expected on Friday.
Warnings
Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the northern parts of the Northern Cape and the western parts of both the Free State and the North West.
Rain
Isolated showers and thundershowers can be expected in Gauteng, Mpumalanga, the eastern parts of the North West, and the Free State, while Limpopo is expected to experience light drizzle.
Temperatures
Minimum temperatures are expected to be cool across most of the country and very cold conditions are expected south of the escarpment and along the coast of the Garden Route.
Warm conditions are predicted for most of Limpopo and the East Coast.
Sutherland in the Northern Cape is expected to be one of the coldest places, dropping to 2°C.
Maximum temperatures remain cool along the coastline, and in the East Coast, adjacent interior and the south-eastern parts of Mpumalanga.
Warmer conditions have been predicted for the central and eastern parts of the country, including Limpopo and Gauteng, while hot conditions have been predicted for the west.
Upington in the Northern Cape is expected to be one of the hottest places, with a high of 36°C.

In Gauteng, Pretoria will reach a high of 28°C while Johannesburg will reach a high of 26°C.
Bloemfontein will reach a high of 31°C.
Along the coast, Cape Town is expected to reach a high of 25°C, while Port Elizabeth and Durban will both reach a high of 22°C.
