It’s been 10 years since few Pakistani terrorists came to Mumbai and spread terror. Ever since the attack, many eyewitnesses have come out revealing the shocking details of how terrorists brought destruction to the city. A survivor, Babloo Kumar Deepak, in an interview to Hindustan Times, recalled the horror moments.
Babloo, who was stationed at Mumbai CST (then) station as an announcer at the outstation terminus saw the entire attack and was the first railway personnel to report the attack to control room. Deepak tells HT that it looked like a college boy was playing video games when actually he was opening fire on passengers. Terrorists at CSMT station killed more than 50 people who were waiting to board trains.

Deepak started his duty at Byculla station at 7.00 am and later as there was less staff, Kumar was then assigned to CSMT, where he went after finishing duty at Bucylla station, at 3.00 pm. “I saw people falling in front of me and collapsing. Kasab was laughing and saying things while he was shooting,” HT quoted Deepak as saying. Deepak then made announcements asking people to stay away from platform no 13 as a blast has occurred. Deepak was awarded a bravery award by Central Railway.
He added that memories of the attack and Kasab’s face is still fresh in his mind, and it still haunt him. Cracker sounds bring back those memories and it scares him.
