India-born Pakistani poet Fahmida Riaz passes away

Noted India-born Pakistani and human rights activist has passed away following a prolonged illness at the age of 73 here, said.

Born into a literary family of in in July, 1945 and settled in following her father's transfer to province, always raised her voice for women rights and democracy in Pakistan, reported.

Riaz, a well-known progressive writer, poet, human rights activist and feminist, worked with Radio and service (Radio), the report said.
