Land Rover’s second-generation Range Rover Evoque crossover will look to build on all of its predecessor’s accomplishments by adding newer tech and a redesigned exterior to an already-successful formula.

Even though we received an early bird look earlier today, officially, the all-new 2020 Evoque will make its debut online on November 22nd at 19:45 PM GMT (14:45 EST). Until then, the footage will showcase a teaser.

Quite a few Velar-like touches

We didn’t even need Land Rover to come up with a bunch of wire frame sculptures teasing the next Evoque in order to realize that it will be heavily influenced by the Velar. In fact, previously-seen spy photographs were pretty revealing, especially with regards to the front end design.

Inside, the new Evoque boasts improved materials, to go with its fully digital instrument cluster and high-resolution 10-inch touchscreen displays – with the Velar again used as inspiration. We therefore expect the crossover to be packed full of advanced safety tech such as park assist, lane keeping aid, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, 360-degree camera and so on.

The 2020 Range Rover Evoque should feature the same power units as its platform sibling, the Jaguar E-Pace, meaning both diesel and petrol turbocharged four-cylinder engines are likely to be available, working alongside a nine-speed automatic transmission.

As for any “greener” versions, a plug-in hybrid model (1.5-liter three-cylinder petrol and a small electric motor) should join the rest of the range sometime in the future.
