The proposed policy will be declared soon but the time frame has not been specified yet. It will be exploring solutions to critical issues related to agriculture and manufacturing output and their supplies including exports.

Under the aegis of PHD Chamber of Commerce Industry while inaugurating the 4th PHD Air Cargo Summit-2018 Dr Prabhu stated that a specific department of logistics has been created in the Department of Commerce which is finalizing the details of the logistics dimensions along with cargo movement through appropriate consultation process.

Both logistics and cargo are one of the biggest growth driven sector in India after services. The government considers that the basic objective of the logistics and cargo policy should be based on the premise that the context is important and significant rather than the text. All the efforts of the policy makers should be unidirectional so that post the declaration of the policy the growth of agriculture, manufacturing multiply exponentially with air cargo movement picking up the anticipated movement with affordable tariff structure as per the Minister.

The minister asked the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry to share suggestions and feedback expeditiously to the government so it could be inserted in the Policy urging the industry association to come out with idea for the proposed Logistics and Air Cargo Policy.

Rajeev Talwar, President, PHDCCI appreciated the growth that took place in the multiplier terms in the Indian Economy in the last couple of decades considering the compulsion of the government . He acknowledged the policy measures of the government stating that it would propel the economy.
