Could This Damaged Ferrari 456 With A Six-Speed Manual Become The Perfect Donor Car?

Manual V12 Ferraris are things of beauty but unfortunately this beauty right here met a ditch somewhere down the line, which left pretty much every body panel damaged or dented.

The big V12 Ferrari was hit in the rear at speed and then spun into the said ditch, where it also partially rolled onto its roof.

Thankfully though -and rather surprisingly- the big GT is still driveable, as shown by the video linked below. The seller reset the computer systems and replaced the fluids while the chassis looks straight enough to execute a few donuts just outside the workshop.

The Ferrari 456 was powered by the company’s bulletproof 5.5-litre V12 engine, kicking out 436hp and 406lb-ft of torque. Back when it was new, Ferrari claimed a 0-62mph (100km/h) in 5.2 seconds and a top speed of 188mph (302km/h).

Despite the battered exterior, the cabin looks in also perfect condition, if you don’t mind the leather shrinkage on the dash and some minor wear on the driver’s seat. Not even the airbags were deployed.

So what can you do with a car like this? The seller reckons that it is fixable, as it mainly needs new panels but probably the smartest thing to do is to use it a parts car, because the powertrain is seemingly unaffected by the crash. This makes it an excellent candidate for a very interesting engine swap.

As for the price, the seller is currently offering it on Ebay with a ‘Buy It Now’ price of $22,500. If you take into consideration that Ferrari V12 powertrains usually go for more on the used market, this could prove to be the start of a very special car for someone out there.
