Semenya calls for Baroka to shine

2018-11-21 18:51

Cape Town - Thabiso Semenya has outlined the importance of Baroka's Telkom Knockout semi-final against Wits on Sunday.

The 36-year-old former Polokwane City defender is a veteran of the game.

But for some of his teammates, Semenya says this will be the biggest match of their careers to date and is expecting a big performance.

Wits are the defending Telkom Knockout champions with Semenya explaining that for Bakgaga, this is their final.

He told the SowetanLIVE website: "The main thing is about imparting the knowledge of being at this stage [of the competition] and to let them know that this is the final before the final.

"The mission of the team is to go to the final. Wits has a reputation when it comes to cups, so it will be a tough match."

Baroka coach Wedson Nyirenda is, meanwhile, quietly confident ahead of the game.

He said: "With this one (TKO) players go flat-out and know we have to win to advance.

"Yes, in the league we have not been consistent but our last few games have shown something different."

Kick-off is at 15:00.
